Nick's Big Birthday Week- Part 2

I figured after the low point of birthday week, our fun day needed a separate post. Despite our rough start to birthday week, we had a great day on Monday.

Daddy got to sleep in a little while Jack and I made him pancakes for breakfast... complete with the special "Happy Birthday" plate. Breakfast concluded with presents... Mario Kart and a new wallet. We like to have fun, yet be practical at the Andersen house.

After a few rounds of Daddy vs. Jack Mario Kart (or, more accurately, Daddy vs. the worst MK player ever... RETRACTION: Jack just said he's not good at Mario Kart & in case he's reading my blog to find this out, he's a GREAT player... ), we headed to Toys R Us to take advantage of their Wii game specials and essentially get another game of Mario Kart (this unopened one will be returned to Target... shhh), plus another game. What a deal!

What is it with boys & any piece of machinery?

Next, we headed to the mall to get Chipotle & McDonald's (FYI- there is no longer a Mickey D's at Valley West Mall, so don't promise your child a happy meal & then try to pass off a Maid-Rite as a cheeseburger), take a ride on the Christmas train (are you kidding... it's a week & a half before Thanksgiving!) and drag Jack home.

Despite the look of trepidation on his face, Jack LOVES the train!

Daddy got to play lots of Wii while the boys napped & Will and I made a trip to the doctor to find out he has his first ear infection- he even set the world record in javelin. I've always known field events are his strength:)

We wrapped up the night stuffing ourselves at Red Robin, where Will flirted with the mother/daughter table near us & Jack kept us all laughing. Nick got his free sundae & Jack and I got a malt. Thank goodness, since our good intentions of cake baking never happened.

Will looks a little afraid, but Jack was cracking him up at dinner...

Luckily, Monday turned out to be a much better day than Saturday! Only 364 days to figure out what we'll do next year...
