Being an only child, I guess I got to spend even more time with my parents... family vacations, dinner every night, hanging out at home... it's just me. I always wanted a brother or sister when I was little, but looking back, I know no different and I really think it helped me to form bonds with my parents that I may not have otherwise.
My mom has always been my biggest fan. From being the loudest mom on the sidelines to still encouraging me when I need a lift, she's always the one I call when I need support. She is completely selfless and always puts me (& my kids) first. Today when Jack made me pick all the flakes of pepper out of his eggs, I thought about how I insisted my mom be showered and ready every morning before I'd eat breakfast. Sorry to give you such a hard time, mom! I'm sure my boys will see to it that I get my fair share:)
My dad has always taught me to be myself and has been an example of service to others. I remember doing service projects with him when I was just a little older than Jack, and he makes me want to show the importance of helping others to my kids. Sometimes I feel like I might hurt my dad's feelings when I pick up the phone to call my mom first, but it doesn't mean that I love him any less. I always respect his insight and he usually makes me think about things differently. Plus, as Jack told Nick last week, "You're teasing me, just like my mom's dad." He sure loves to joke around & make everyone laugh-just another reason I love him!
I love watching them in their role as grandparents. My boys adore their Nanny & Bapa. Jack has always had a special bond with my mom and now, Will is Bapa's little shadow.
I wish I could spend more time singing their accolades, but I still have lots to do before they get here to celebrate Thanksgiving with us! I couldn't ask for a better way to spend the weekend... with those who are most important to me!

And we couldn't imagine the holiday without spending it with you, Nick, Jack and Will. Our holidays are a bit hectic at the moment with those two adorable but active grandsons, and a challenging puppy. BUT I believe these are the things that we will remember most and the love we all have for each other. You are a great daughter, Liz -- we thank god every day for the blessing He trusted with us -- you!
