Fabulous Five

I am so blessed to be this little guy's mama & today, it was all about him!

My amazing first-born baby is FIVE! He's been looking forward to today for the last 364 days... he LOVES birthdays (especially his own) and this one was just right.

I found him in the kitchen this morning, sitting on the floor, soaking in all of the decorations & birthday hoopla. We started out with donuts at Krispy Kreme and headed home for all the last-minute party preparations.

After sorting through all the options, he decided on a crafty, creativity party at home. Most of his friends from school were able to come and celebrate Jack... we designed picture frames, made individual pizzas, played "pin the party hat on the birthday boy," did the limbo, scored lots of goodies from the pinata, stuffed ourselves with cake and ice cream sundaes and had lots of fun playing.

Once all the new toys and goodies were broken in, we headed out to extend the celebration. Chuck E. Cheese was Jack's dinner of choice. It must've been lots of other kiddos' pick, too... it was crazy! We ate, played and came home worn out.

As I put Jack to bed, I soaked in just how amazing he is. He is tender-hearted. He is thoughtful. He is beyond sweet. He is smart. He is creative. He is sensitive. He is inquisitive. He is totally unique. He is an awesome creation of God and I am SO blessed to be his mama.

Happy 5th birthday, Jackie! I love you so much!

So excited to find your entry! I just looked 'for old time sake' -- something must have inspired me to look. Maybe it was just knowing that somehow you wouldn't let this special day go by -- the day you became a mother for the first time, five years ago. What a blessing he has been, and what a blessing for you, to become a mom! It's what I have felt every June 16th since you came into my life!! Love, Mom
