Me Time

I've been MIA from the blog scene for a bit... Frankly, I'm just not sure how I ever found time to post in the past. Recently, I've been trying to do things that I feel are a better use of my all-too-limited "me time."

Naps: You can't beat a good nap... especially when the boys seem to think 6:30 is an acceptable time to wake up. So, I try to heed the advice, "Nap when your kids nap," as often as possible. Please let me know if I will ever feel well-rested again!

WiiFit: This is my new favorite thing. I love feeling good in my own skin & after two babes, it's been a little more challenging. Being able to work out while they nap & feel like I'm making a difference is just what I need.

Books: My neighborhood book club is just starting it's third month and we're reading a book that has me hooked, "Firefly Lane." I haven't been so sucked into a book for a long time- I can't put it down (although I think Nick feels a little neglected)! Somehow, I still end up cramming my "daily" Bible readings into one night, the night before small group. Oops!

Girlfriends: I am totally blessed with a husband who recognizes my need for time with my friends! I love that I can spend time with my amazing girlfriends at Dinner & Dish, bunco (twice a month!), book club and random girls' nights.

I am also blessed with an awesome group of college girlfriends... We just had our second Girls Getaway to Galena. It was a weekend full of catching up, reminiscing, margaritas, shopping and just being with 12 of my fabulous friends. I can't wait to get away again next year!

Hopefully sometime I'll be able to get everything into a better system and fit blogging into my "me time" more frequently... Until then, I'll check in when I can!

Love it. My opinion: If you're not happy, ain't nobody happy! You have to find time for yourself to be a GOOD mom! Naps- needed! Bible time- needed! Girlfriends- Much Needed! Plus, your boys will become better husbands seeing how you did this for yourself when they were growing up. SOMEDAY, I swear to God, they WILL thank us, right??????
