Labor Day?

We had the best weekend this past weekend... we got to spend so much time with family and got lots done around the house.

Nick's mom, sister and her family were all in town Friday for the state track meet, so we all gathered at our house for some pizza and hanging out on Friday night. I wish I would've captured some photos... the kids had so much fun playing with rocket balloons and the two dogs (we're dog sitting for some friends while they're honeymooning).

We also got to give Brayson his birthday present, since we'd be missing his 5th birthday party on Monday. Jack was so excited to give him a triple slip-n-slide & swimsuit. It was so cute hearing two little guys:

B: Thanks for the present, Jack.
J: You're welcome, Brayson.

Sweet boys... and then they went back to wrestling in the living room.

The boys LOVED Mickey... it was so fun to finally meet him!

Saturday morning, my parents arrived with new puppy, Mickey. I'm not sure they were aware that we were dubbing this "Labor Day Weekend" in lieu of Memorial Day. Boy, did we have a list for them! After lunch (aka bribery), the hard work began.

The boys have so much fun with all of their grandparents... we wish they were all closer!

By the end of the weekend, Nick & my dad built shelving in the garage, I painted our front door and my mom kept the boys in line. We managed to squeeze in some time for fun- Nick bought a truck, we went out for pizza, had a bonfire complete with s'mores and wore out the 3 pups.

Here are some pics of all the progress:

I can't believe how much difference a little paint makes! We're going to have so much storage for all our junk, I mean awesome treasures.

We had a similar weekend of building garage shelves! Too funny. It's a good weekend to do that kind of thing. :)

I check into your blog every once in a while. Really love seeing your cute photos and catching up on what's going on with all of you. Hope we get to connect when you're up this summer.

God's Blessings to a wonderful family!

Such a great blog. You need to post more often. You have enough silliness going on. :)
