Nanny's #1!

I'm not sure what she ever did to earn her place at the top, but my mom has a very special place in Jack's heart. I think he likes her more than anything... ice cream, baths, books... you name it, Nanny has it beat! Don't get me wrong... he really loves Bapa, Nanny 'Nooks & Bapa Reid, too- there's just something about Nanny.

Although we don't live close, the time we do get to spend together is all about Nanny. In fact, I just got told to "go in the kitchen" when I was trying to hang out with them. Ha! Even I don't compare!

Today when we were eating lunch, Jack said, out of the blue, "I love Nanny & Bapa's." He does! He gets so excited before we come visit that he has to count how many times he has to sleep in his own bed before he can "sleep in the big bed at Nanny & Bapa's." And when we get here, he gets so excited that he can't wait to see them in the morning, either... last time we were up here, he woke Nanny up at 2:30, wanting to make jell-o, just as she promised they'd do. Even though there have been no middle-of-the-night wake-up calls this time, he still manages to rise & shine a good hour before he does at home. Thank goodness he likes to see Nanny first & not me!

I love that they have this special bond. I hope that they'll continue to have it for many years to come... And I can already see Will & Bapa developing one, too. Thank God for grandparents- they are so special!!!
