It's hard to believe it's been three years since we were holding you as a tiny baby in the hospital! And now, you're running around and "pumping it up" on your birthday.
You have grown into such a little man over the last three years. You are total boy- you have endless energy, love to play rough- yet you can be so sweet and sensitive- you love to snuggle before bed, have a very caring heart (especially toward your brother) and always want to help. You are so silly and fun when you're around us or your friends, yet you get really shy when you get around big groups of people or unfamiliar faces. You are so good at using your manners, yet you try to use your cuteness to your advantage when it comes to going to bed or getting what you want. I love that you find so much joy in little things like going to the park, having a bowl of ice cream, helping me in the kitchen, playing outside, singing, taking a bath...

For your third birthday, you wanted a Mickey Mouse party. You got to invite a few of your favorite friends to play at Pump It Up and then come over to play and eat lunch and cake. Right now, most of your friends are girls, so you were surrounded by lots of cuties. You even told them all to take their shirts off when it was time for cake!:)
This afternoon, we hung out, opened presents and played with your new bike and game. You got to pick what we did for dinner... Chuck E. Cheese. We played lots of games, watched a lot of Chuck E. and came home for your second piece of cake. What a fun day!
You are an amazing little guy, Jack. I love you so much and am so blessed to have you as my son.
Love,
Mom

What a beautiful tribute to Jack on his third birthday, Liz. I smiled, I laughed (shirts off picture!) and ended with tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat. You are a lucky mom to be so blessed -- just as I was/am! Mom
My comment won't compare to your mom's but....I loved the post. Writing a letter to him on his birthday is a great idea- I may steal it for myself, in fact! I have to say- he's looking more like Nick every day, I think! What a lucky little boy to have you as his mama!
Adorable with all the shirts off! He sure has some power over the ladies at such a young age!!
oh my gosh, so fun and adorable! I love the pic with the shirts off!! LOL. We always take Grace's off for messy meals too!! Congrats on 3 years of motherhood!
We are debating the move from trike to bike--- it's nerve wracking though!
